Little Ones are Part of the Community at The Norwegian

Parents know the dilemma: Going Out to Eat often means a fussy toddler, a screen, and taking turns walking around with the little one (s). This might not always be the scenario, but it happens (a lot).

The Norwegian, a Rockford, Illinois, locally-owned restaurant offers fresh, Norwegian dishes with a space made just for little ones. sip on espresso, salmon, and chef-created dishes while the little ones play on the floor with Magntiles or duplos (parents and grandparents are often on the floor playing with the little ones).

Emily at the Norwegian created the space for children after wishing more restaurants offered a similar, family-friendly option for her toddlers.

If Little Guide 815 could choose to impact the community in just one way, it would be to make spaces welcoming to children. The Norwegian is already doing this- thank you, Emily and Mark.

Pancake balls available at the Norwegian, served with raspberry jam and maple syrup.

We recommend the very kid-friendly pancake balls, or aebleskiver, for brunch. We also recommend visiting our favorites on Amazon- from indoor activities to homeschooling favorites:

Nearby activities include The Discovery Center Museum and The Burpee Museum.
